Eligibility Criteria for Assam Home Guards Recruitment 2026
1. Age Limit :
- Minimum Age: 20 years Â
- Maximum Age: 28 years Â
- Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC Non-Creamy Layer (3 years), and PwBD candidates as per Government guidelines.
- Must possess a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
- For candidates registered under NATS, the graduation passing date must not be more than 4 years preceding the cut-off date (01.05.2026).
- Experience Limit: Candidates who have 1 year or more of job experience or training after completing their degree are not eligible.
Selection Process

- Online Examination: A remotely proctored 60-minute objective test covering General/Financial Awareness, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, and General English (100 Questions, 100 Marks, No Negative Marking).Â
- Local Language Proficiency Test: Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the applied State (e.g., Assamese, Bengali, or Bodo for Assam). This test is waived if you studied the language in 10th or 12th standard.Â
