India Post Result 3rd Merit List 2026
On 08 June 2026, India Post released the third (3rd) merit list for candidates who applied online for 28,636 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacancies. The online application process for the India Post GDS Recruitment was conducted from 31 January to 16 February 2026, during which a large number of candidates submitted their applications through the official portal. The merit list has been prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates in their Matriculation (HSLC/Class 10) examination.
Details of India Post Result 3rd Merit List 2026
- Authority: India Post, Ministry of Communications, Govt. of India. Â
- Posts: Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak. Â
- Eligibility: Age 18–40 years with a 10th-standard pass in Math and English.
- Requirement: Must know local cycling, basic computers, and have studied the local regional language up to Class 10. Â
- Selection: Strictly merit-based on Class 10 marks (No exam, no interview). Â
- Latest Update: The 3rd Merit List for the Assam Circle was out on June 8, 2026. Document verification must be done by June 23, 2026.Â
Shortlisted Candidates in 3rd Merit List 2026
If your registration number is on the 3rd merit list, please read these official instructions carefully to ensure your candidature is not cancelled:

1. Verification Venue: Shortlisted candidates must report to the Divisional Office of the specific division to which they have been selected. Â
2. Deadline: The physical verification must be completed on or before June 23, 2026. Failure to report within this 15-day window will result in automatic cancellation.
3. Required Documents: Candidates must bring original documents along with 2 sets of self-attested photocopies. Ensure you carry the following:
- Class 10th (Matriculation) Marksheet Â
- Identity Proof & Date of Birth Proof Â
- Caste / Category Certificate (OBC/SC/ST, if applicable)Â Â
- EWS / PwBD Certificate (if applicable)Â Â
- Compulsory Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer of a Government Hospital/Dispensary/PHC. Â

- Visit the Official Portal: Go directly to the official India Post GDS Online Engagement website at indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement.
- Find the Shortlisted Candidates Tab: On the homepage, look for the section or tab labeled “Shortlisted Candidates”.
- Select the Assam Circle: Hover over or click on the circle menu and select Assam to view its specific results.Â
- Open List 3: Click on the link for “Supplementary List III” or “List 3” to open or download the official selection PDF.
- Search for Your Details: Open the downloaded PDF file (verbatim name Assam_DV_List3.pdf) and use the search function (Ctrl + F or the search icon) to type in your Registration Number to see if you have been selected.
- Check for Official Notifications: Selected candidates will also receive a system-generated SMS and email notification on their registered mobile number and email address.
