Local Language Proficiency Test

The Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) is a qualifying stage conducted after clearing the Online Main Examination / Provisional Allotment, but before joining the allotted Bank. It assesses whether a candidate can effectively communicate with local bank customers.

The Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) is not mandatory for all candidates.

  • Exempted Candidates: If a candidate has studied the specified or opted local language in 10th standard or above, they are completely exempted from taking the LLPT. To claim this exemption, the candidate must produce a valid 10th standard or higher mark sheet/certificate proving that they studied the language as a subject.
  • Mandatory Candidates: If a candidate did not study the opted local language in 10th standard or above, taking and passing the LLPT is mandatory. The test will be conducted after qualifying the Online Main Examination or receiving a Provisional Allotment, but prior to joining the bank. Qualifying this test is essential, as failing it will result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
For Assam, the specified local languages are: Assamese, Bengali and Bodo.

Provisional Allotment

The Provisional Allotment is the stage where shortlisted candidates are allocated to one of the Participating Public Sector Banks based on their performance in the recruitment process.

Provisional Allotment process:

  • Selection & Scaling: Candidates are selected based on their performance in the Online Main Examination (scaled out of 100 marks) and allocated to participating banks on a merit-cum-preference basis according to State/UT vacancies. Preliminary exam marks are not counted for final selection.
  • Tie-Breaking: If candidates score identical marks, the candidate senior in age is placed higher in the merit list.
  • Verification & LLPT: Provisional allotment does not guarantee an offer of employment. The allotted bank will verify all original documents and conduct the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT), if applicable, prior to joining.
  • Finality & Validity: Once an allotment is made, no requests for bank reassignment will be accepted, and rejecting an offer results in forfeiture of candidature. The allotment list remains valid for one year.
  • Reserve List: A reserve list covering approximately 30% of vacancies per category is maintained to fill subsequent vacancies reported by banks during the validity period.
