Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Canara Bank has released an official notification for the engagement of Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026–27. Eligible Indian citizens can apply online for 3,500 Graduate Apprentice training seats across various States/UTs.
Candidates must first register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal and complete their profile before applying for apprenticeship training in Canara Bank. The online application process will be conducted from 01 October 2026 to 17 October 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age as on 01 September 2026.
- Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 September 1998 and not later than 01 September 2006, both dates inclusive.
Age Relaxation
- SC / ST: 5
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Widows / Divorced Women / Legally Separated Women (not remarried): Up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 years (OBC), and 40 years (SC/ST)
2. Educational Qualification
- A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute.
- Passing Window: Candidates must have graduated between 01.01.2023 and 01.09.2026 (both dates inclusive).
3. Local Language Proficiency
- Candidates should be proficient in the local language of the chosen State/UT.
- Candidates who studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard (supported by marksheet/certificate) are exempt from the local language test. Others must qualify for a local language test during Document Verification.
4. Other Eligibility Conditions
Candidates should note the following conditions:
- A candidate can opt for apprenticeship training in only one State.
- Candidates can provide preferences for districts within the selected State.
- Candidates should not have previously undergone apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or another organization under the Apprentices Act.
- Candidates who have completed one or more years of training or job experience after completion of their educational qualification are not eligible.
- Engagement is subject to the candidate being declared medically fit as per Bank requirements.
Apprenticeship Training Period
The apprenticeship training period will be 12 months. On-the-job training will be provided at selected Canara Bank branches according to the prescribed course/curriculum.
Apprentices will not be treated as employees of Canara Bank and will not be entitled to employee benefits available to regular Bank employees.
Canara Bank Apprentice Stipend 2026
Selected apprentices will receive a total monthly stipend of ₹16,650/- during the apprenticeship training period.
The stipend includes:
- Bank’s Share: ₹10,500/- credited directly to the apprentice’s bank account.
- Government Subsidy: ₹6,150/- via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Selection Process
1. Merit List Preparation: State-wise merit list prepared in descending order based on marks obtained in the 12th Standard (HSC/10+2) or Diploma Examination.
Minimum qualifying marks: 60% for General/OBC/EWS and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
2. Local Language Test: Conducted during Document Verification (if not studied in 10th/12th).
3. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Final engagement depends on clear document scrutiny and being certified medically fit.
Note : Candidates with 59.99% and 54.99%, respectively, will be treated as below the required qualifying percentage.

The handwritten declaration must be written by the candidate in English and should not be written in capital letters.

- Read the official notification and instructions carefully before proceeding.
- Make sure you have completed your NATS registration and your NATS profile is 100% complete before applying.
- Click on “New Registration” and complete the registration process using your valid mobile number and Email ID.
- Enter your personal, educational, and other required details correctly. Ensure that your name and other details match your educational certificates.
- Select only one State for which you wish to apply and provide your preferred districts within that State.
- Upload the required documents, including your recent passport-size photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration, in the prescribed format and size.
- Pay the applicable application fee online. The fee is ₹500 including intimation charges for candidates other than SC/ST/PwBD. SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from the application fee.
- Carefully verify all the entered details before final submission. No changes or modifications will be allowed after the application is finally submitted.
- Click on the “Submit” button to complete the application process.
- After successful submission, download and print the final application form and e-receipt for future reference.
- Keep your Registration Number and Password safely for future correspondence and selection-related activities.
