  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling, or
  • A person of Indian origin migrated from specific countries (such as Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries) with the intention of permanently settling in India.

2. Age Limit (As of 01.01.2026)

The age requirement varies depending on the specific post code. Generally, the age groups are:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years.
  • Maximum Age: Varies by post (e.g., 18-25, 18-27, 18-30, 18-35, 18-37, etc.).

 

Age Relaxation:

Standard government relaxations apply to the upper age limit for reserved categories:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years (13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST)

Candidates must submit their applications through the online mode only. Follow these steps to ensure a successful submission:

1. One-Time Registration (OTR):

All candidates must register on the new official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in. Even if you have registered on the old SSC portal (ssc.nic.in) previously, you must create a new OTR on the current website to apply.

 

2. Live Photograph Capture:

Unlike previous years, you are not required to upload a pre-saved photo. The application module includes a Live Photograph capture feature. You must use a webcam or the “mySSC” mobile app (available on the Google Play Store) to take a real-time photo during the application process. Ensure the background is plain and your face is clearly visible without a cap, mask, or spectacles.

 

3. Filling the Application:

Log in using your new OTR credentials, navigate to the “Phase-XIV/2026/Selection Posts” section, and fill in the required details. You will need to select the specific Post Category Number you are applying for.

 

4. Application Fee:

After filling in the details, pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit cards. Note that women candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempt from paying the fee.

 

5. Final Submission:

Review all entered information carefully, as errors in name or date of birth can lead to disqualification. Submit the form and download a PDF copy for your future records.

1. Can I apply for more than one post?

Yes. Candidates wishing to apply for more than one post must submit separate applications for each category of post and pay the fee for each.

2. What happens if I make a mistake in my application?

There is a “Window for Application Form Correction” from May 11 to May 13, 2026. You can re-submit your application up to two times during this period. Note that correction charges apply: ₹200 for the first time and ₹500 for the second time.

3. Is there any negative marking in the exam?

4. I have an old OTR from the previous SSC website. Can I use it?
